Romphims: A Sign of Change For Men’s Fashion?

Women have tons of different options such as pants, skirts, shirts, dresses, halter necks, and plenty of other options. Men have the suit and tie or the t-shirt and jeans. They are also limited in the colors they could wear. While there are plenty of other options for men, they can’t wear them without at least risking a second look. However, there is a new form of fashion that is being pushed. It is called the men’s rompers. They have been making a lot of waves in fashion. Many people have different views on them. However, a lot of people who have been observing men’s fashion over the past few decades may agree that it may be time for a slight adjustment in what is available.

For most people, men’s fashion is mostly boring. For one thing, men have not been known to be the more fashionable group. Part of the reason was that there have been limited options for men. It seemed that the only way to dress well is to wear the suit and tie. Being bold and risky meant wearing the same style in a different color. Fortunately, there are some stores that have been making efforts to bring about change in the men’s fashion industry. Fast fashion chain H&M is one of the companies that have been bringing out different forms of clothing for men.

With men’s rompers, it can be expected that men are going to be seen running around in those for the summer. On social media, it seems that a lot of women are actually welcoming this change. Typically, when men’s fashion attempts to bring something different, it is often met with backlash from people who seem hell bent on confining masculinity so tight that it winds up suffocating.

10 Years Later And Kardashian/Jenner Sisters Leave Longtime Stylist Behind

Stop The reality TV presses!

The Kardashian and Jenner girls are re-styling, from head to toe. That’s right; the famous television ladies are looking for new stylists because their longtime pro Monica Rose is moving on. Rose has become super busy these days, especially with choosing glam looks for Gigi Hadid, Chanel Iman, Kaia Gerber and Chrissy Teigen and other a-list stars.

That’s alright with the K and J sisters because they are looking for new fashion looks after a decade with Rose as their main fashionista queen. The sisters will not hire one stylist, but the girls will choose their own and go from there. Rose first met the famous K-family from Kalabasas when she styled with Kim for a 2007 Complex cover shoot. Then Rose began styling the family of sisters.

No word yet from Kim or Kylie and the others, but Monica Rose is talking and keeping it general, saying she has been “blessed” to be working with amazing girls. Rose was responsible for the sexy, peek-a-boo looks, sequin minis and tons of chokers in the past that have made the Kardashians and Jenners part of the head-turning fashion set.

Khloe last worked with the L.A. stylist in March and is now collaborating with sister Kourtney’s stylist Dani Michelle. Meantime, Kendall has been linked with Marni Senofonte, who styled Beyonce for her Lemonade visual album.

Kim Kardashian West has been changing things up in major ways lately. First, her hair is fashion forward, which now includes a sleek lob. It will be interesting to see what Kim wears on the red carpet for the MET Gala. The 2017 theme for the huge fashion party at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum is in celebration of Japanese avant-garde designer Rei Kawakubo.

Maybe it’s a turn toward Kardashian modesty?

Never.

Making Any Body Shape Look Amazing in Clothes

No matter what body shapes you have, you can look excellent in all kinds of clothing. There are tons of body types, and we will go over these types first before talking about how each of them can look great in different clothing types.

Body types

First, there’s the pear-shaped body. Those who have pear-shaped bodies tend to have larger hips and smaller waists and shoulders. The hips and butt will be larger, so this means that you should accentuate your smaller waist and thinner shoulders. This can be done perfectly with A-line skirts and dresses.

There is also a body shape called the apple body shape. This is for people who tend to carry most their weight around the middle. They may have a small butt and small shoulders along with a small chest. Some people who have the apple shape will have a large chest. If you have a small chest, you’ll want to create the illusion of having a larger chest with low-cut tops. Cleavage won’t be a problem for you.

If you have a large chest, don’t wear crewneck tops or turtlenecks, but also don’t wear tops that are too low. This will make your cleavage stick out too much. Just like the other type of apple shape with the small chest, you’ll want to accentuate your waist and create the illusion of a small waist.

Finally, there are stick thin shapes. If you have a stick thin shape, you may struggle with looking curvy. For this reason, don’t choose fabrics and clothing that hugs your body. Instead, you’ll want to create the illusion of curves by wearing clothing items that have more flow to them. By doing all of these things and matching your body shape to specific types of clothing, you look great in any outfit.

Oops! Are You Inadvertently Ruining Your Clothes?

If you have clothing items that you hope to keep for a long time, you naturally want to take good care of them. But many people are inadvertently ruining their clothing items in several different ways.

First, many people dry clean clothes too often. Dry cleaning is absolutely necessary for certain materials and some types of delicate clothing. But if you get your dry-clean-only clothing dry cleaned more than necessary, you could be wearing down the fabric and causing premature decay of your clothes.

Next, some people aren’t dry cleaning their clothes enough! In other words, they aren’t washing clothes that should be going to the dry cleaners in their washing machines at home or at the Laundromat. When a clothing item says that it is dry clean only, you need to follow this guidance. It’s there for a good reason, and washing your clothes at home can be detrimental to the overall structure of those items. Furthermore, you shouldn’t even be washing dry-clean-only clothing at home on the delicate cycle. Again, professional dry cleaning is absolutely necessary for specific types of materials.

Lastly, many people use iron settings that are too hot. This can ruin thin and delicate material that may melt or become misshapen when strong heat is applied. Always keep your iron on a low setting at first. If you need to turn the iron up to a higher setting in order to get out wrinkles and creases, you can do so, but don’t start on the absolute highest setting possible.

Make sure to heed all of the warnings tags on in the inside of your clothing. By doing these things, you will keep your nice clothing looking good for as long as possible so that you don’t have to go shopping for new clothes every single season!

Tommy Hilfiger Put Marvelous Miami Mansion Up For Sale

Tommy Hilfiger is legendary throughout the fashion world for his preppy, even luxurious fashions. We can now get a better glimpse into his artistic mind by seeing how he designed one of the places where he lived.

According to the Los Angeles Times, fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger’s home has recently placed his home for sale and listed online for all to see, and it is incredible.

The Golden Beach, Florida mansion carries a $29 million price tag and it is not hard to see why. His home is a piece of art itself. The 14,000 square foot mansion sits right on the oceanfront with around 100 feet of beach.

As if having your own ocean view is not enough, the outside is complete with an infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Moving inside, the interior is devoted to pop art. Every room filled with pop art and bright colors, and crazy furniture. The mansion itself is a work of art. After purchasing the house in 2007, Hilfiger and his wife hired world famous interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard to give the exterior and interior of the house a major facelift.

How fabulous does the inside look?

It features bathrooms with scratch and sniff wallpaper, a built in bar with disco ball hanging overhead, plenty of Mickie Mouse memorabilia, a gym, and a movie theater just to name a few amenities.

Tommy Hilfiger sold his iconic brand six years ago for the hefty sum of $1.6 billion and has cut down the time he spends working on fashion. With homes like these, it is easy to see why.

Saluting Military Style Fashion For Spring 2017; Getting Your Green On

Some might call it “olive drab,” but the military look is hot at the moment and carrying along through Spring/Summer 2017. Even the First Lady is inspired as Melania Trump slipped into her favorite soldier green to greet the President of Argentina and his fashionable wife.

Mrs. Trump made an entrance in a skirt suit by designer Joseph Altuzarra, a top New York label. The army green ensemble featured a belted blazer and matching skirt with python print piping that just hit below the knee. Both the blazer and skirt displayed large flap utility pockets in a strong look for the First Lady. She completed the outfit with a pair of knock-out pointed snake print stilettos.

Mrs. Trump wowed President Mauricio Macri and his spouse Julianna Awada.

Military style has always been a favorite, and some seasons it explodes on to the fashion runway. VersusVersace is into the olive drab and designed their collection mainly for the Millennials.

Versace’s military “inspo” was captured in glamorous jackets, coats, trousers, dresses, boots and tops with a focus on power and sensuality. Cool details like strong shoulders, zippers, pockets and belts give the army green an extra dose of modern appeal.

Fans of Melania Trump’s sophisticated style can copy her look but will have to shell out a pricey sum for the Joseph Altuzarra skirt suit. According to the label, the jacket/blazer sells for $2,995 and the skirt for $1,075.

To get a closer look at the blazer, the piece is selling here at NeimanMarcus and still available in U.S. sizes 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama was applauded for often wearing design labels from the United States during President Obama’s time in office. Both first ladies are fans of Joseph Altuzarra.

The Top Sewing Techniques That Every Gal Should Know How to Do

Long ago, women absolutely had to know how to sew. It was part of their duties to help keep up the home. They sewed clothes for themselves, their spouses and their children, and they may have even sewed clothes for others. They were also in charge of mending clothes because any clothing item was difficult and expensive to make. If you got a rip in one of your pairs of pants or a button came off of a suit coat, you didn’t just throw it away. You fixed it.

Today, things are different. With the advent of the Industrial Revolution, people stopped taking such good care of their clothing. That’s because they were able to buy whatever they needed fully made, and when it got ruined over time, they could throw it away or give it away.

The way that things used to be is actually a lot better than the way things are now. With that being said, it’s a wonderful gift that we no longer have to sew all of our clothing by hand, and we can spend our time doing more important things. But it’s also good to value the items that you have, and this means knowing a little bit about sewing.

Every girl should know how to hem a pair of pants or a skirt. In addition, she should know how to sew on a button or fix a button. And she should also know how to fix a rip or a hole in a piece of clothing.

If you don’t know how to do one, two or any of these things, that’s okay because you can learn. There are numerous tutorials online, and you can watch videos to see someone actually doing the mending so that you can learn how to do it yourself as well.

Top Ways to Keep Cool in Your Clothes This Spring

Spring is here, and that means that the sun is going to be out more often than usual. In some parts of the world, this also means that things are going to get hot, and it’s going to happen fast. If you live in a place like this, you’ll want to be well-prepared with your spring wardrobe. Here are some tips for keeping cool this spring while also looking super stylish.

First, make sure that you are choosing clothing items that are made of breathable, lightweight fabrics. Cotton, linen and bamboo are all great choices.

Next, you’ll naturally want to break out some smaller clothing. What we mean by this is that you should stop wearing jeans, tall boots and long skirts. It’s no time for all that! Shorts, capris and shorter skirts are now on the menu! And don’t forget to find these items in lightweight fabrics as discussed above.

Of course, with the sun out and the temperatures getting warmer, you will want to start showing some skin up top as well. This means tube tops and tank tops for girls. Short sleeves are suitable for men.

One other tip to keep in mind for spring is to start wearing sandals. You may think that you should wait to start wearing sandals during the full-blown months of summer, but why not start now? As stated, there are numerous places in the United States and around the world where spring can get pretty hot, so it’s a good idea to just bust out your sandals now. Just make sure that they are comfortable and won’t leave you with blisters as many sandals have been known to do.

Follow all of these tips and tricks to make your spring style super cute and comfortable. There’s no reason to be sweating through the beautiful spring months.

MET Gala Pushing Fashion Envelope With Rei Kawakubo Theme

The MET Gala is “fashion’s most important party of the year,” and the fun begins on Monday, May 1st. The famous Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City will welcome guests at the annual invitation-only fundraiser to benefit the museum’s Costume Institute.

The MET Gala always represents a theme, and for the 2017 event, the museum has announced that the exhibit will be dedicated to the 74-year-old avant-garde Japanese designer Ms. Rei Kawakubo:

The 2017 Met Gala Theme Is Comme des Garçons’s Rei Kawakubo, according to Vogue.com. That can only mean that invitees will be able to push the fashion boundaries on to the red carpet.

This year’s extravagant event is co-chaired by Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour. Fashion fans will be able to view the MET Gala here at Vogue’s Facebook page on Monday, May 1st, starting at 7 p.m. EDT.

Vogue says that viewers will see an amazing addition to the feed’s coverage this time around; the red carpet will be shot in 360 degrees for a complete fashion perspective.

Viewers are hoping that guests arrive in extraordinary costumes that use some of Rei Kawakubo’s signature details like exaggerated silhouettes, odd textiles, fabric volume where you least expect it and extremely bold designs. The designer is considered a futuristic pioneer who has always created clothing that was literally wearable art. Rei Kawakubo is not afraid to challenge society’s traditions and definitions of beauty and fashion.

Anna Wintour has made sure to open the event to famous faces in the modeling, music and acting industries. Reality television’s Kim Kardashian West and her hip-hop star husband Kanye West look forward to the gala. Kim has recently lost six pounds via the flu and says it will help her fit beautifully into her costume.
