Some might call it “olive drab,” but the military look is hot at the moment and carrying along through Spring/Summer 2017. Even the First Lady is inspired as Melania Trump slipped into her favorite soldier green to greet the President of Argentina and his fashionable wife.
Mrs. Trump made an entrance in a skirt suit by designer Joseph Altuzarra, a top New York label. The army green ensemble featured a belted blazer and matching skirt with python print piping that just hit below the knee. Both the blazer and skirt displayed large flap utility pockets in a strong look for the First Lady. She completed the outfit with a pair of knock-out pointed snake print stilettos.
Mrs. Trump wowed President Mauricio Macri and his spouse Julianna Awada.
Military style has always been a favorite, and some seasons it explodes on to the fashion runway. VersusVersace is into the olive drab and designed their collection mainly for the Millennials.
Versace’s military “inspo” was captured in glamorous jackets, coats, trousers, dresses, boots and tops with a focus on power and sensuality. Cool details like strong shoulders, zippers, pockets and belts give the army green an extra dose of modern appeal.
Fans of Melania Trump’s sophisticated style can copy her look but will have to shell out a pricey sum for the Joseph Altuzarra skirt suit. According to the label, the jacket/blazer sells for $2,995 and the skirt for $1,075.
To get a closer look at the blazer, the piece is selling here at NeimanMarcus and still available in U.S. sizes 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama was applauded for often wearing design labels from the United States during President Obama’s time in office. Both first ladies are fans of Joseph Altuzarra.
